In the Spirit of the Season ...

I'm posting "Chip Crockett's Christmas Carol," in 11 parts.  This ran as a serial on the Inferior 4 this time last year, so I've just cut-and-pasted those links.  There's a brief intro to most of them, and in some cases the URLs I've given for bonus stuff may be dead (or not).  For those of you unfamiliar with it, this is a short Christmas novel that originally ran as a serial on SciFiction.com in 2000; an homage to two lost icons, Joey Ramone and Sandy Becker, a popular NYC-area kiddie show host of the 1960s.  Merry Christmas!

I love this story. I read it every year, and tell other people to do so, too.

Thanks, Tim. I was driving around this afternoon on a very gray Maine winter's day, and stuck the Ramones on the CD player to brighten things up. It worked, too. The spirit of Joey Ramone still lives ...

I was just listening to "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)" this morning. Those boys knew how to have a good time.

Yeah -- I was listeing to "Danny Says," which is a lovely song -- maybe the only lovely song they ever recorded -- and also a Christmas song. Joey's version of "It's a Wonderul World," on his final solo albujm, is pretty great too.

Good of you - Christmas can be a rough time. I'll look forward to reading this in my motel room next week.

Cheers - Lars

Re: Another link glitch

Agh!

But I just updated it. Thanks again. This is SO aggravating (for you). I have to admit, I've always been bad at things like this -- numbering things in orders, like with chapters and page numbers etc. Very simple stuff, and for some reason I get confused.

Hope you can reach the end this time!

Re: Another link glitch

Well, it's fixed now. Great story. I did sort know where it was going, but not how it would get there. Tony is a splendid character. Merry, merry.

Re: Another link glitch

Hey Not Lucius,

Thanks. I wrote that before Joey Ramone died, so I'm glad that Tony's still around to carry on.

Merry Christmas -- God help us, every one!
