Seeing that Jeff VanderMeer has lately restored critical appreciation of SF/F/H to the pages of THE NEW YORK TIMES, I thought it might be interesting to see if I could discover the first time that paper ever explicitly treated SF. Here, in its brief entirety, is what I came up with after searching their Archives, from July 25, 1943.
