Meet me at Schwab's

I love to see photos from the 1930's and 1940's that depict magazine stands or spinner racks loaded with pulps and comics. They certainly inspire fond wishes for access to a time-machine.

Here's one such shot, admittedly not the best, as the focus is on the man, not the magazines. It's from an article entitled "Fantastic Pharmacy" by Pete Martin, from THE SATURDAY EVENING POST for May 12, 1945. The article is all about the legendary Hollywood soda fountain, Schwab's.

The bottom row is all comics, although the scan is a bit too grainy for you to tell, perhaps. In the original, I can make out the distinctive logo of DETECTIVE COMICS, right near the man's elbow.
