I just caught up with this fantasy classic for the first time, last nite. Excellent film, I thought.
Note how the trailer completely elides any fantasy elements. Apparently, the studio thought audiences needed to be tricked into seeing this film.
One observation: a boxer named Murdock who is killed because he won't throw a fight? Can it be that Stan Lee, in his well-known feverish grasping for plot elements in a frenzy of one-man creation for Marvel, appropriated this riff for DAREDEVIL?
